Sign-in problems in Hobi

Hobi signs in with Apple or Google. Here is how it works, how to move to a new device, and what to do if sign-in will not go through.

How signing in works

Hobi uses Continue with Apple or Continue with Google. There is no password or email login, so there is nothing to reset. Signing in is what backs up your collection and syncs it across devices.

Moving to a new phone

Install Hobi on the new device and sign in with the same Apple or Google account you used before. Your shows, movies, ratings and progress come back on their own. Using a different account is the most common reason data looks missing.

If sign-in will not go through

  • Check your connection. Sign-in needs internet to reach Apple or Google.
  • Finish the prompt. If you close the Apple or Google sheet before it completes, nothing is saved. Start again and follow it through.
  • Try the other method if one account is giving you trouble.
