This Privacy Policy applies to the Hobi mobile application (“App”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what information is collected when you use Hobi, how it is used, and the steps we take to ensure your data remains secure.

Hobi is built with privacy in mind. We do not use third-party marketing stacks, advertising pixels, or cross-app tracking tools. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their commercial purposes.

1. Information Collection and Use

To provide, maintain, and improve the App, we use a limited set of third-party services. These services collect basic technical and usage information:

Sentry: We use Sentry for error tracking and crash reporting. If the App crashes, Sentry collects diagnostic data, which may include your device model, operating system version, and IP address. This helps us identify bugs and fix them promptly.

Firebase Messaging: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. Firebase relies on an instance ID or device token to route these notifications to your specific device.

PostHog: We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with Hobi so we can improve the user experience. PostHog collects anonymous usage events (e.g., screens visited, buttons clicked) and technical data. We self-host or configure PostHog to minimize data collection and do not use it to track you across other applications.

2. What We Do Not Collect

We strictly limit our data footprint. Hobi does not:

• Collect highly sensitive personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or health data).
• Use advertising identifiers (like IDFA or Google Ad ID) for targeted advertising.
• Share your data with data brokers or marketing agencies.

4. Security

We take the security of your information seriously. To protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction, all data handled by Hobi is encrypted both in transit (while moving between your device and our servers) and at rest (when stored on our servers).

5. Children’s Privacy

Hobi does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or 16, depending on your jurisdiction). If we discover that a child under this age has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
