Is Hobi private? How Hobi handles your data
Hobi is built by two independent developers, and your watching stays yours. Here is plainly how your data is handled.
A lot of apps are free because you are the product. Hobi is not built that way, and it matters, because the app that just shut down and took millions of libraries with it was owned by a company that moved on. Here is how Hobi is different.
- Independent and self-funded. No venture capital, no private equity. The business is the app, not your attention or your data.
- Never sold, never mined for ads. Your watching data is not a product we sell, and it is not shared with third parties for advertising.
- Sign in is just for backup. Apple or Google sign in exists so your collection is saved and syncs across your devices. That is all it does. See create an account.
- Trakt is opt in. Nothing syncs to Trakt unless you choose to connect it.
The full details are in our privacy policy and terms of use.
Leaving TV Time partly because of what happened to your data? That instinct is right. Keeping your export and picking an independent app is the safe move. See move your TV Time history to Hobi.
